Built in recognition of the Canada Centennial in 1967, it was formerly known as the ‘Fairgrounds’, and in the early 1900’s played host to the Queen’s Plate Race. To mark the occasion Honourable Earl Rowe, then-Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, was in attendance.
