Originally constructed in 2005, the park serves as a memorial tribute to Senior Constable Alan Kuzmich, who died in the line of duty in August 2002 in the Town of Bradford. While investigating a stolen motorcycle, Kuzmich was killed instantly when he was struck by a passing motor vehicle.
