2011-2014 Municipal Facilities Committee Members

This committee consists of the Nine (9) members of Council, meeting as a committee.  Councillor Ron Simpson is the Committee Chair.

Committee By-Law 2011-090

Purpose
The purpose of the Committee shall be to provide advice respecting the disposition of surplus facility assets and the planning of new municipal facilities and other Town properties.

Mandate
The mandate of the Committee is to provide advice and planning for the following:
• Review the uses at Town facilities that may be deemed surplus to needs and recommend appropriate actions for decommissioning or reuse.
• Recommend appropriate actions leading to the eventual development of a new Town Hall.
• Recommend appropriate workshop accommodations for the Town’s Leisure Services and Engineering Services outside workers and proceed with planning and development work in this respect.
• Review operational plans / issues and reports for newly commissioned facilities. Ensure that operating plans are maximizing the use and performance of new facilities.

Composition
The membership of the Committee will be comprised as follows:
• All Nine (9) Members of Council.

Only members of the Committee may vote on any issue.

Meeting Schedule
The Committee will meet the second Tuesday of every month at 4:00 p.m.  These meetings will take place at the Bradford West Gwillimbury Library and Cultural Centre unless otherwise noted on the Community Calendar.  Please click here to review the upcoming meeting dates.  Additional meetings may be called by the Chairperson in consultation with the Clerk or his/her designate.  The Chairperson can cancel any meeting.
Meetings of the Committee shall not conflict with regular meetings of Committee of the Whole and regular meetings of Council.

Lead Department/Reporting Relationship
The lead departments for the Committee shall be the Town Manager and Department of Leisure Services.
Staff from any of the Town’s departments will attend meetings of the Committee as required to provide expertise or report on various matters related to their departmental work plans.  Staff from other government or agencies may from time to time attend as necessary to provide expertise or report on various matters related to their work plans.
Any staff member attending meetings of the Committee is not a member of the Committee.

Remuneration
No remuneration is paid to the Committee members.
